Is 2010 the year to adopt a healthy lifestyle?
If you train the mind, the body will follow. I know, I've been there and done that! Adopting a new lifestyle requires you to undergo a mind-changing process that re-programs your habits, expectations, demands, and patterns that represent your health maintenance practices. Step 1 is the first step in a 3-step process. You can attend in person or online, the choice is yours! The location of the meetings may be inconvenient, or your schedule may not allow you to attend in person, so each meeting is concurrently conducted on line. All you need is high speed internet.
Steps 2 & 3 are optional; Step 2 provides training on specific exercises and diet management and Step 3 provides continued accountability, training and motivation. For a complete guide to the program, visit www.ferguson-network.com and click on Healthy Lifestyle Development.
Step 1 includes the following training and mental exercises to build a foundation of success:
1. Participate in a group orientation meeting to learn the dynamics of the program, your role and responsibilities and 3 vitally important tricks to jump-start your program
2. Begin the 5-week assessment of all your habits, health issues, capabilities, diet & exercise routines, life-style challenges and fully inventory all the components of your current life style. This requires you to send daily emails to the trainer to inventory your current lifestyle and challenges in living a healthy lifestyle.
3. Prepare the mind. The 4 week, proprietary “Protecting Your Goals: The Science of Health & Wellness” provides weekly lessons, via email, that re-program your brain’s approach to health and wellness. This exclusive program provides the participant with 4 weekly 8 minute MP3 audio and written PDF files of that week’s lesson plan, sent to the participant to listen to and/or read daily during the week. Each week a group lesson is held to discuss the lesson, participate in additional training and position you for the next week’s lesson. This “spaced repetition” approach is validated to achieve the maximum retention of information that sticks to the brain and provides a foundation for success. At the completion of The Science of Health and Wellness you will have mentally prepared yourself for adopting a new style of living well!
4. Here we complete the assessment and design a new life that works for you! Using all of the information that we gathered in the first 5 weeks we design a specific diet, exercise, stretching and rest program that you can use for the rest of your life. This works because it is based upon your individual circumstances and needs for robust health.
5. You are ready mentally to live your newly designed life and succeed in achieving your health and fitness goals! If you'd like more help, you can go on to Step 2: Implementation and Step 3: Accountability, monitoring and motivation.
